In the Zijdelwaard district in Uithoorn, the senior complex De Hemen is within walking distance of the Shopping Centre Zijdelwaard for daily shopping.

Residents of De Hemen can use the facilities offered by 't Hoge Heem such as the restaurant where a meal can be enjoyed several times a week in the evening and where various activities are organised.

The MIVA houses are three-room apartments intended for disabled people and therefore have an alarm system, extra wide doors and a spacious bathroom. Both thealarm system and the fire alarm are automatically linked to the care home 't Hoge Heem. This house has a terrace and there is a sheltered courtyard that is shared with the psychogeriatric residents of care home 't Hoge Heem

In the selection procedure, candidates who have to move for health reasons are given priority over the other candidates.
